Pipe Relining Brisbane

Recurring pipe blockages can often be resolved with no dig pipe relining. This technology has been around in the US and Europe for more than 25 years but it is only just becoming popular in Australia. Pipe relining is a non-invasive, time effective alternative to the traditional dig up method.

Pipe repairs without digging

In a nutshell, the internal pipe repair process can be carried out for your Brisbane home or business in these easy steps:

  1. Your Brisbane plumber can provide you with a quote once they have used a CCTV drain camera and jet rodder to clean the pipe and assessed the damage.
  2. Once the quote is accepted, the plumber will come to site with a fabric patch ‘sock’ sized suitably to the section requiring relining.
  3. The fabric ‘sock’ is soaked with resin
  4. A rubber bladder is inserted inside the resin coated ‘sock’
  5. This is inserted inside the broken pipe and expanded to pipe size using an air compressor
  6. The resin is then left inside to cure for 3 – 6 hours
  7. The sock is removed and the pipe can be used straight away

The advantages of ‘no dig’ pipe repair

Repairing a pipe in Brisbane under a concreted area, deck or landscaping by digging it up can take days or even up to a week. On average, relining can be done in a day as there is no need to dig anything up. The epoxy resin is also able to cure in a matter of hours. Pipes are able to be used as soon as the resin has cured. If a pipe is under your bathroom for instance, a dig up may require tiles and concrete to be jack hammered. Not only is this time consuming, it is also messy and disruptive to your lifestyle.

Relining is a permanent solution to ongoing pipe issues. Digging a pipe up and replacing it will allow tree roots back in through joints where the old pipe connects to the new one as a flexible joint needs to be used for the repair.
